Hospice of Santa Barbara
Established in 1974 Hospice of Santa Barbara is
the second oldest hospice in the United States. The mission of Hospice of Santa Barbara is to provide care to anyone experiencing the impact of a life-threatening illness, or grieving the death of a loved one. First Crescent was honored to have been selected to redesign their web site. Since the original build-out, First Crescent has developed and integrated an easy-to-use Content Management System. This system gives Hospice complete control over the web site content, images, copy, events calendar and video updates. In addition, First Crescent was hired to develop a virtual memorial system. Web visitors are able to create an online memorial where family and friends can share comments, stories, and pictures of their lost loved ones. Additionally First Crescent developed a system to share their virtual memorials in exchange for the obituaries from another online paper via RSS technology. This real-time virtual exchange of information with RSS has proven to be very successful for Hospice
