Typical Web Development Cycle - eStrategy
Most web site design and redesign projects follow a development cycle. The typical work flow is as follows:
Initialize
- Initial contact with First Crescent Designs, LLC
- Meet with client, project specifics
- First Crescent Designs, LLC prepares detailed project budget proposal
- Second client meeting, present proposal to client
- Client agrees to proposal and signs Memorandum of Engagement
- Written agreement prepared with project specifics identified and signed by clients and First Crescent Designs, LLC . Initial good faith deposit given to First Crescent Designs, LLC
Preproduction
- Preproduction Survey completed by client
- Draft concept proposal (project profile) compiled if required
- Site map, Navigation schema designed and finalized
- Project assets (copy, logo, artwork etc) identified and deliverables gathered from client
- Database and data-driven web pages needs assessment
- Database prototype developed and tested
- Story Boards if required
- Web page Comps, mockups designed and virtually presented to client
- Comps critiqued, and revisions made as per client feedback
- Signoff on web page Comps and navigation schema
Production
- Actual web site production begins after signoff on preproduction
- Final web site production to be developed in a special area accessible only to clients and those who need to preview project in development stages
- Finalized web page comps developed into web pages
- DreamWeaver - template based web site developed if required
- All CSS, style sheets, necessary scripting, library items, and code developed as needed per project
- Database back end and middle layer integrated into web site
- All deliverables, copy, content, artwork, graphics added to site as required
Test
- Alpha testing - in-house testing
- Beta testing - outside to real users
- Proof reading
- Debugging
Launch
- Meta tags, key words and descriptions are added to the web site
- New site published to primary domain name web host
- Final web site burned to CD ROM and delivered to client
Search Engine Optimization
- FirstCrescent will register the web site with approximately 3000 search engines and search lists worldwide.
- This "Level One Search Engine Optimization" IS TYPICALLY INCLUDED in the proposal at no extra charge to the client.
- FirstCrescent strongly recommends that the client implement an additional cross-media marketing, promotional campaign. This off-line marketing program will greatly assist in the promotion of the new web site
Monitor usage
- Gather web site usage statistics from web host
- Analyze site usage patterns
